Mangalore, Sep 2: The Catholic Shikshana Mandali ® celebrated ‘Teachers Day’ at Shanthi Kiran Hall, Nantoor on September 2, Thursday.
Speaking after presiding over the function, Bishop Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, said that Teachers give life to schools, hence we must be thankful to the teachers. If one has faith in god then he must not forget to thank the teachers who thought us to know about god.
Last year my absence for the programme had hurt many of the teachers, hence this year i tried to attend the programme even though I am suffering from illness, he added.
Felix Lobo, managing director Qatar Meta Coats and his wife Sefania Lobo participated as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Felix Lobo said that, Schools and teachers are working for the future development of the country.
He also said that, All the teachers, students and parents were waiting to celebrate the teachers day. Lauding the efforts of teachers, he said that, he could reach the position only because of the efforts of his teachers, hence they must be valued. Further they must give value education to the students and encourage the students to work hard, he added.
He also briefed about the achievement of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.
Fr. Wilson V D’Souza, secretary of the Mandali welcomed the gathering and guests.
The students of Rosario Pre –University College rendered invocation. The students of St Aloysius English Medium School presented the welcome dance on the occasion.
The top scoring students in SSLC examination and Retiring teachers were felicitated on the occasion.
