Cine Star Ambika speaks Tulu words at Town Hall in SNDT celebrations

Nandikeshwara Drama TeamMangalore: Speaking at the Town Hall on Tuesday on the occasion of 28th annual day celebrations of Sri Nandikeshwara Drama Troup (SNDT) well-known yesteryear film heroine Ambika said that serving arts is not the cup of tea for everyone and that it was not easy to run a Drama Company for long year, but hoped that the popular SNDT would completed 100 years, in view of its popularity and the variety of dramas it has staged so far.

Actor Shivadhwaj in a speech said that Tulu Literary Academy had supported Tulu films, but Tulu stage also deserved its affection, as organising drams and troupes was a hard job.

There are few such troupes left in north Karnataka as SNDT, which is foremost in its services to Tulu language and drams.

Referring to P.B. Rai who is sick, but his daughter Shobha was running the troupe that wrote a special chapter in the history of Tulu stage, said senior play Wright Dr. P. Sanjeeva Dandakeri in a tribute to Rai’s hard work.

Academy chairman Umanath Kotian was present along with many other Tulu literary lights.

Sharath Kinnigoli presented the programme a city Bundh call on February 28.
