Mangalore : Inspector General KR Nautiyal, PTM, TM, the Commander, Coast Guard Region (West) has arrived at Coast Guard Headquarters, Mangalore on 01 August 2017 on a two day visit.
This is the maiden visit of the Flag Officer since his taking over of the reins of the Coast Guard Region West on 22 May 2017. The visit is aimed at assessing the Operational preparedness, Coastal Security mechanism and administrative setup at Coast Guard Karnataka.
Inspector General KR Nautiyal, PTM, TM has a distinguished career spanning over three decades. The Flag Officer had been at the helm of two Coast Guard Regions viz., Coast Guard Region (Andaman & Nicobar) and Coast Guard Region (North East). Prior to this, he had also been appointed at apex level of Coast Guard Operations and Human Resource Development.
Coast Guard Karnataka, being commanded by Deputy Inspector General SS Dasila, has been actively serving the Nation and the people of Karnataka. This District Headquarters has been able to rescue 46 lives including medical evacuation of two foreign nationals, in coordinated efforts with other stakeholders, in challenging sea conditions since onset of this monsoon.
