Mangalore: The future of the nation lies in the hands of the youth. Younger generation brimming with self-confidence and a strong will-power can help a nation prosper and flourish, said Swami Jithakamanandaji , President of Ramakrishna Mutt.
He was speaking on the second day of the three-day seminar ‘Darshana –The Vision” for degree students organized by Ramakrishna Mutt, Mangalore on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, on September 25, Tuesday. The programme highlights Swami Vivekananda’s glorious vision of the Youth and the Youth’s Vision of futuristic India and the world.
Continuing, Swami Jithakamanandaji said mere succeeding in examination is not education and exhorted youngsters to be responsible, dedicated and committed towards nation building works.
Earlier, inaugurating the programme, Udupi District Minister and State Minister for Mujrai and Ports Kota Srinivas Poojari said the ideals propagated by Swami Vivekananda were relevant at all times and also spoke on how his preachings have left the world spell bound.
MLC Capt. Ganesh Karnik also spoke on the occasion. Swami Anupamanandaji, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mutt, Prof. Raghotamma Rao and others were present on the occasion.
There were bhajans and religious discourses as part of the programme. There was Vedic chanting by Brahmacharis of Ramakrishna Mutt.
The first day’s seminar meant for post-graduate students and organized on September 24, Monday was inaugurated by District Minister CT Ravi. The third day’s programmes on September 26, Wednesday, includes a special seminar for girls studying in degree courses.
