Mangaluru: “Construction overpass for pedestrians at Pumpwell to Talapdy National Highway 66, as the road work is under progress,” directed state food and civil supplies Minister U T Khader.
He was speaking in a meeting with NHAI and other officials regarding the problems created by work of NH 66, at DC Office on Monday.
“Overpass should be constructed at main junctions like Yekkur, Kallapu, Kumpala, Kotekar and Thokkottu. When you are spending Rs 780 crore on highway, importance should be given to pedestrians’ safety also,” he said.

NHAI official Samson said that there are problems behind acquiring the land.
