Mangaluru : Dakshina Kannada district recorded 89 new corona cases and five deaths. Udupi district reported 98 new corona cases on Monday July 20.
As per the district health bulletin, the 89 who tested positive on Monday, 11 are primary contacts, 45 have ILI symptoms, 16 have SARI symptoms, two has international travel history, and contacts of 15 are being traced. A total of 29,072 samples have been tested so far.
As many as 25,387 have turned out negative, and 3,685 are positive till date. Out of these, 2,055 cases are currently active. As many as 1,548 persons have recovered and been discharged, and 82 deaths have occurred so far, including five on Monday. Among the deceased, 12 are from other districts.
As many as 57 patients were discharged on Monday from Wenlock as well as private hospitals.
Amongst the five deceased were, a 2-month-old baby from Bantwal, 55 and 63-year-old two males from Mangaluru, 42-year-old man from Beltangady and 65-year-old man from Chikkamagaluru. As many as 57 patients were discharged from Hospital today.
Udupi district reported 99 new corona cases on Monday July 20. the new cases, 56 are in Udupi, 36 in Kundapur, and six in Karkala. They include 53 men, 36 women, four boys and five girls. Three have travel history to Mangaluru, one each to Bengaluru and Saudi Arabia, and two to Muscat. As many as 23 have ILI symptoms, two have SARI symptoms, and 73 are primary contacts of earlier positive tested patients.
A total of 24,891 samples have been collected so far, including 54 on Monday, out of which 11 are COVID suspects and 14 are COVID contacts. Out of the total samples, 22,357 have turned out to be negative, including 251 on Monday, and 213 reports are awaited.
Kasaragod district reported 28 positive cases on Monday and 11 of them to be infected with primary contact. Eight are from abroad and nine are from outside states.
