Country needs ‘Rajyanga’ but not ‘Panchanga’: M Venkataswamy

Awareness Jatha and ConstitutionMangalore, November 23: The Constitution Awareness Movement in association with Namma TV organized a Constitution Awareness Jatha and Constitution Awareness Convention at Town Hall on Nov 26, Friday.
The event has been held as a part of two-month long ‘Constitution Awareness Movement’ will be held from November 26 to January 26 in the city for the enforcement of constitutional rights and values.

Awareness Jatha and ConstitutionSpeaking after inaugurating the convention, Dr CS Dwaraka Nath, Former Chairman of State Backward Classes’ Commission said that none of the state in the country has given importance of inaugurating the rally to four common hard working women.

Awareness Jatha and ConstitutionAll the educated people will not know all the information all the time to preach us at every moment; hence it is necessary to have the general information on constitution.
Chief Guest SP Chengappa, Additional district and session’s judge said that, even after 62 years of the formation of constitution, the ministers are seen fighting in the assembly, which is an insult to the constitution of India.
The ministers must have common knowledge on constitution to maintain peace and respect. He also said that, in few days the Vidhan Sabha will become denotified.

Awareness Jatha and ConstitutionHuman Rights Activists M Venkataswamy, said that the students of commerce, arts and science must also have a knowledge constitution.
He said that, prior to the constitution formed by Ambedkar, there was another constitution made by Manusmrithi followed by one group of people, which gave importance to caste system. Further the country and citizen must think whether they want ‘Rajyanga’ or ‘Panchanga’.

Awareness Jatha and ConstitutionVarious sessions regarding the Indian Constitution were held as part of the movement. Resource persons like Lolaksha, Dr BK Ravindra, PV Mohan, Renny D’Souza, Rafiuddin Kudroli, Prema G, BA Muhammad Haneef took part in the sessions.

Awareness Jatha and ConstitutionAs part of the movement the rally was held from Jyothi Circle to the Town Hall. Sumathi Kodical, house maid helpers, Carmin D’Souza, agricultural worker, Geetha Shetty, social activist and member of Soorinje Gram Panchayath and Susheela Poojari, smaller farmer, Neermarga inaugurated the rally.

Stanley R D’Costa advocate welcomed the guests and gathering on the occasion. Hussain Katipalla, compered the programme. B A Mohammed Haneef, advocate and notary delivered the key note address on the occasion. Former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake, was the chief guest.
