Mangalore : The District Congress paid homage to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary observed at the District Congress office on October 31, Friday.
District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai paid floral tributes to the portrait of the late prime minister and said that the achievements of Indira Gandhi was instrumental in bringing significant changes in the Indian policies.
Criticizing BJP, Rai said that the BJP had celebrated birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabha Bhai Patel on a large scale to conceal Indira Gandhi’s death anniversary. Instead every citizen must respect the leaders who have sacrificed their lives for the country.
Interim District Congress President Kodijal Ibrahim, MLC Ivan D’Souza, former mayor Shashidhar Hegde, Congress members PV Mohan, TK Sudhir and others were present.
