Puttur : As per the order passed by the District Court, Puttur Town Municipal Council President Vani Sridhar has been dethroned from the post for violating rule during the Council elections held on September 12, 2013.

It is learnt that, Vani Sridhar was a former Congress party member and recently got associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party and was elected as the President.

As per the complaint filed against her for violating the whip, Court has ordered for her removal from the post.
