Mangaluru : Minister for Forest and Ecology B Ramanatha Rai inaugurated the DK District Municipal Workers Convention held at Ladyhill Church Auditorium here on January 3, Saturday

Speaking after inauguration Minister said, the state government will fulfil the demands of municipal workers. The government will regularise around 35,000 Safai Karmacharis in State as per urban local bodies report, he added.

Narayana, President of the State Safai Karmacharis Commission in his presidential address said, ESI and PF facilities are not being given to Safai Karmacharis in Mangalore City Corporation limits and in other urban local bodies of the district the state government must provide this facilities to help them.

Retired municipal workers and other achievers were felicitated on the occasion.

JR Lobo, MLA, Ivan D’Souza, MLC, Kavitha Vasu, Deputy Mayor, M Shashidhar Hegde, former mayor, MCC Commissioner Hepsibha Rani Korlapati and others were present.
