Inaugurating the National-level symposium “Pampa mattu Parisara” organised by the Kannada department of University College Mangaluru online on Monday, he said it was a noble thought of moral environment by Pampa, as now we are witnessing the collapse of all types of environments under the illusion of progress.
‘Vijay Karnataka’ Editor-in-Chief Hariprakash Konemane, opined that it is the time to think over the noble thoughts of earlier poets like Pampa to prevent the present disaster as literature is turned to be self-centered. In his presidential remarks, Mangalore University Vice-Chancellor Prof. P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya defined Pampa as a symbol of humanity.
Mysore University Prasaranga Director Prof. Neelagiri M Talavara opined that all poets were influenced by the environment, to their senses. Karnataka Sahitya Academy President Dr. B V Vasant Kumar said that Pampa has given the idea of the nation through Kannada. “Pampa has never encouraged violence in his works. Valour and self-esteem had more value,” said Bettampady Government First Class College Principal Dr. Varadaraja Chandragiri.
Kuvempu Bhasha Bharathi Praadhikara President Dr. Ajakkala Girish Bhat delivered the valedictory address and said that Pampa has given the same value to the creator and the creation. Kannada Adhyayana Mandali President Prof. Somanna was the guest and Mangalore University Registrar Dr. Kishore Kumar CK presided over the valedictory ceremony. Principal Dr. Anasuya Rai was also present.
Dr. Rangaswamy of the Madras University Kannada department chaired the research paper presentation session. Kannada department Head Dr. Madhava MK welcomed the guests. Dr. Shaila U, Dr. Suresh, Dr. Ashwini Nayak, Venkatesh, Usha, Divyashree, and Nagesh Nayak were among the organizers.
