Mangalore: Central youth and sports minister Ajay Maken on Friday inaugurated the Food festival at 17th national youth Assembly venue at Karavali Utsava grounds next to Mangala stadium where inaugural functions had been held.
44 food-stalls, serving tasty dishes from all over India in various forms, were opened to cater to the belly demands of local people, guests, and participants in youth festival from 32 regions of India.
There were stalls from Assam with Bamboo pickles, a Bihar stall Chana Sattu, a West Benagal stall selling veg/egg/paneer rolls. Chattisgarh has Mungodi and Chila as specialities. Kerala offered Puttu and Papad, with Kadle curry.
Pujab gave Makki-Ki-Roti and Sarson-Ka-Saag.
Rajasthan Sold Kesar Churma and Gulab Churma. There is no end to this list. Andhra could give you Hyderabad Biryani and Kaddu-ka-kheer.
Hungry Mangaloreans, we are told, are swarming all over the pleasant-smelling stalls to gobble whatever they can get rare as delicacies. Local provided seafood and Kori-rotti to Northerners.
