Mangalore: A Law Laboratory, a first of its kind in the whole nation has come up at the SDM Law College and Centre for Post-Graduate Studies and Research in Law in Mangalore. The main aim of this lab is to give hands on experience to the law students and will also benefit the members of the public.
Addressing a press meet, SDM Law College Principal Dr B K Ravindra said the law lab would help in making law study complete for the students. He informed that the lab has already been appreciated by the National Accreditation and Assessment Council and peer committee of the Bar Council of India and National School of Law University.
Under Civil Category, the lab has details regarding documents of legal notice, affidavit, details of hierarchy of court etc. the criminal category has copy of old FIRs. Mew FIRs and chargesheets. Similarly, there are other sections in the lab dealing with documents pertaining to the same. The lab also has documents pertaining to high court and supreme court judgments. Three volumes of Kautilya’s famous ‘Arthashastra’ are also in this lab which is in the initial stages of set up.
The lab will be open on all the seven days of the week from 9 am to 7 pm for students as well as the general public.
