Mangaluru : The first phase of the Gram Panchayat elections scheduled to be held on December 22, Tuesday, polling officials and other personnel on election duty reported at the mustering and de-mustering centre at the Mahatma Gandhi Centenary High School at Bondel in Mangaluru on Monday.

In Dakshina Kannada in the first phase elections will be held in Gram Panchayats of Mangaluru, Moodbidri and Bantwal.

After lunch all the election personnel travelled to their respective polling booths in KSRTC buses specially arranged for the purpose.

There are a total of 10,39,217 voters in the 220 Gram Panchayats in Dakshina Kannada while in Udupi there are 3,77107 voters.

Udupi 

In Udupi elections will be held at 67 Gram Panchayats in Udupi, Brahmavar, Byndoor and Hebri tomorrow.

Mustering process was also held at the SMS Pre-University College, Brahmavar, Govt PU College Byndoor and Government First Grade College Hebri.
