Mangaluru: In order to inaugurate the International Yoga Day, a free yoga camp was inaugurated at Amrita Vidyalayam.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest Madhusoodhana Bhat S, assistant commissioner of Customs Kannur International Airport and guest of honour, Patanjali Yoga Samithi president, Bejai Jagadeesh Shetty.
Talking on the occasion, the chief guest said that the youths of today must have to instil Yoga Abhyas as their routine and encourage the students in order to uphold the cultural and age old tradition by participating in the Yoga and Meditation classes.
The free yoga camp shall be from June 3 to 21 and the classes will be conducted in two sessions. Morning classes for men will be conducted by Yoga Guru Rajesh Naik and evening ladies batch will be conducted by Yoga Guru Bharathi Shetty.
Senior teacher Naina Shetty welcomed the gathering and Shruthi Rao compered the programme. Senior principal Ramchandra Bhat briefed about the importance of yoga in the school and said it is a matter of great pride to know that Yoga originated in India and now spread over countries all over the world.
