Bijapur: The politically condemned Sri Rama Sene’s local Hindu volunteers, all six of them, were arrested for hoisting a Pakistani flag at the local Teshil office in Bijapur district at Sindgi, apparently to stir up communal outcries, and to set one community against another to in benefit a naked anti-national attempt on the New Year Day, 2012
The arrests were made on Tuesday by DSP Rajappa. Talking to reporters, incharge DC Kashinath Pawar stated all the arrested Hindu boys belonged to Sindgi Town, and were students of various local colleges.
He added that seven youths had planned the act and one was absconding. They were in the age group of 18-20 years. Arun Waghmore had fled, but Ashok Waghmore (20) was caught.
All the 7 were the office-bearers of students’ wing of Sri Rama sene.
There was a widespread protest and total closure of the town, following the Pak Flag seen on top of Tehsil office. The flag was burnt later by demonstrators.
The flag was made at arrested Sunil M. Agasara (18)’s house, said the DSP, DC Rajappa. The anti-national going of 7 called others even to see the hoisting, and pelted stones at passing buses. The DSP announced a cash reward of Rs 10,000 for his team, which arrested 6 culprits.
