Mangaluru: The most awaited Tulu horror movie, ‘Guddeda Bhootha,’ is all set to release on January 06 as the first Tulu film of the new year 2017.
Speaking in a press meet held at Press club Mangalore on Januvary 5 the director Sandeep Paniyooru said, the movie is releasing in Prabhath Theater Mangaluru. Simultaneously the movie will be released in Cinepolis, PVR, Big Cinemas and Putturu Aruna, Planet Karkala and Jai Maruti Sakalehpur. In second week we are planing to release in Udupi and other places, he said.
The film has been produced under the banner of Shree Katileshwari Media by Nithin Paniyooru, Yathira Bhat, Nitya Adamar and co producer Nagaraj Paniyooru. The team is new and hence we need support from audience. he said.
We had changed the film chamber after there was a controversy over its little, ‘Guddeda Bhootha’. In the initial stage, he added.
The lead roll Sandeep Bhaktha said, we need support from media as well as the audience.” he said.
Sandeep Bhaktha and Ashwitha Nayak are the hero and heroine of the movie. Theater artist Dinesh Attavar, artist Chidananda Kamath Kasaragod and other played roles in the movie. Subhash Bolar composed music whereas Surendra Phaniyuru handled cinematography.
There was a controversy over the title of the movie, Guddeda Bhootha. A Kannada title was registered as ‘Guddada Bhootha’ two years earlier and Bengaluru Film Chamber was reluctant give its nod for the tile Guddeda Bhootha. However, the substitute titles given by the Tulu movie makers, ‘Tulunad Guddeda Bhootha,’ ‘Guddeda Bhutha Unduge,’ and others were also rejected by the chamber. The movie makers knocked the door of Hubballi film chamber for the title they planned and obtained the present title ‘Guddea Bhootha’. The movie has received U/A certificate as it is a horror movie.
The movie has been sent to international film festivals also. The movie is expected to be screened at FLIUMS film festival scheduled to be held in Pakistan this month. It has also been selected for London and Switzerland film festivals. The film has 2.17 hours duration. For international film festivals it has been edited and duration of the movie has been reduced to 1.40 hours.
Dinesh Attavar, Chidananda Kamath, Nelson Sequira and others were present.
