Shiroor: Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh who was at Shiroor on February 1 to take part in the annual celebrations of the Green Valley National School, won hearts and was cheered by his fans, particularly students.
Harbhajan who spoke to press men on the occasion, was hopeful that he would find his place back in the Indian cricket team. While commending youngsters who are faring well, he at the same time said he cannot be written off but will certainly get back to his place.
On the reports that former captain Saurav Ganguly may be chosen as the coach of the Indian cricket team, Harbhajan said it was a good choice and also said another name that came to his mind was that of spinner Anil Kumble.
Harbhajan also spoke about his recently released Punjabi pop “Suneha” and said he chose to make the album fed up with the indecent and vulgar lyrics used in pops these days. He said his pop has registered a 3.5 lakh hits on YouTube.
A brochure of Green Valley School was released by him. John Mathew, Principal of Green Valley National School and PU College, Abdul Khader, President and Managing Trustee, Shiroor Welfare Trust and Syed Hassan Saheb, Senior Vice President of the Trust were also present.
