Mangalore: referring to the resent kidnap, sex and blackmail case involving a gang of 8 criminals of young age, health and welfare minister from Ullal, U T Khader told press persons on Dec.26 Thursday that he had strictly instructed the ACP and other top police officers in DK districts to arrest who ever commits crimes of sex and ransom money demand and such other mean-minded Criminal acts to lock them up after producing in a court. There was no politics involved in such cases against the police and to protect criminal youngmen , even if they be Muslims or Hindus for that matter.
He criticized D V S Gowda for his latter and remarks made against CM and Home Minister for deterioration of Law and Order situation in DK district and for asking the Govt. leaders to visit DK to obtain a firsthand Knowledge of criminal activities going on here. Khader said Gowda was doing injustice to his own district as a former CM by shouting from house stops that DK had lost its tranquility by loosing Law and Order, and by increasing instances of sex crimes by youngsters. Gowda had brought bad name to DK and the university at Deralakatte by talking loosely about criminal incident that were alleged to be taking place there and politicizing the situation by one instance of kidnap, sex and demand of ransom money by a set of lawless rowdies.
The DK police, Khader said, were doing their duty with extreme care and intelligence and have been rounding up criminals from any community that conducted what was a criminal activity. Therefore, the police should not be blamed much less the home minister, for any dereliction of duty. D V S Gowda has MLC and BJP leader should restrain himself from making harmful complaints to the ruling Govt., when he is capable of doing so against Bajarangdal or VHP and other units of RSS to help keep pies and communal amity in coastal district, Khader said.
The DK politicians from whichever party should not look like jokers and add political color to criminal activities when law was taking a straight course of punishment to the culprits, Khader concluded.
