Hundreds of KSRTC employees protest against the government

KSRTC protestMangaluru: The members of staff unions of KSRTC gathered in front of KSRTC bus stand at Bejai and staged protest against the government and demanded the hike in the pay on Wednesday evening.

The strike called by the KSRTC unions has continued for the third consecutive day.

The KSRTC members shouted slogans against the government.

Speaking to MegaMediaNews General Secretary of KSRTC Staff Union, Praveen Kumar said that there should be a proper law for the KSRTC Corporation. The government should hold talks to solve this problem.

KSRTC protest“Hike in pay is not only a demand we want a proper norm for transfer, health, leave and education for our children. The decision of calling strike was decided after gathering opinions of the KSRTC employees from all over the state. We don’t commit suicide, we will fight till the end,” he said.

He further said that in other states the pay is 105% more than in Karnataka. Every time the government is assuring to hike the pay, but this time we won’t stop the strike until the government implements the sheme.

Workers union AITUC Mangalore Division Secretary Mohammed,  Sunil organizing secretory, Santhosh Putturu Unit joint secretory of KSRTC Staff Union, Walter  and KSRTC Employees were present.
