PUCL holds talk on “Human Rights and Indian Democracy”

PUCL Mangalore : The State Unit of the PUCL orgnaised a talk on ‘Present situation of human rights in India and fate of democracy,” at the Bishop Jattanna Hall on September 14, Saturday.

Addressing the gathering. PUCL National President Prof. Prabhaker Sinha said several acts in the nation were oppressive and need to be amended. He said the governments were not working towards protecting interests of the common man but were favouring capitalists.

Kavitha Srivastava, PUCL Secretary and Human Rights Activist in her address, warned of the severe implications if Modi was made the Prime Minister. All dissent will be crushed in case he comes to powers, she said.

Dr V Suresh, PUCL Secretary and advocate, Ravikiran, PUCL Vice President and others spoke on the occasion. Among others present were PB D’Sa, State President of PUCL.
