Bantwal : After some protestors vandalized the toll gate place at Brahmarakootlu on national highway 66 on April 26, Saturday, the officials resumed the toll collection on April 27, Sunday.
Following the series of disturbances at this toll plaza, SP Dr Sharanappa visited the spot and assured to provide security by deploying personnel from the reserve police force, hence the contractors decided to open the toll collection windows once again.
Speaking on the occasion, contractor for toll collection Gopalakrishna Melanta said that the gate has been posted with additional police personnel’s and the repair of damaged things has been undertaken and the staffs of gate have recommenced the collection based on the assurance of the police department.
He also said that SP has camped at B C Road to guide the teams involved with the above incident and officials are searching for two people caught by the CCTV cameras, during their involvement in the attack.
It is learnt that one of the accused, who was injured during the attack has been admitted in the hospital in city and police are waiting for his discharge so that he would be arrested and reveal the names of other accused during interrogation.
