Thieves looted five houses at Konaje

Konaje TheftMangalore: Thieves looted five houses in a serial theft at Konaje on Monday May 26 and Tuesday May 27 from the house of Victor D’Souza, through the backdoor when the family was asleep. Thieves escaped with gold worth over Rs 10 lacs.

The family members said, when they were slept on night, the thieves must have used chloroform on them as they were unconscious till morning of Tuesday. The thieves broke open four cupboards and looted gold ornaments.

The robbers stormed houses of Abdullah and Latif and stole about Rs 4,000 and Rs 10,000. The thieves also tried breaking into the house of Ayub but they did not get anything.

The Konaje police SI Gopalkrishna arrived to the spot. Canine squads and fingerprint experts also arrived the spot.

A case has been registered in Konaje police station.
