Mysore : A 102-year-old woman, Gowthamma, has filed her nomination papers for the Grama Panchayat poll from Doddalathuru village. Gowthamma has one son and three daughters.
Speaking to media Gowthamma’s grandson Ravikumar said, the elected representatives from the village have not done anything for the welfare of the people.
Since, Doddalathuru is facing the first election, the residents were keen on selecting a person who is not after money and have nominated Gowthamma, he added. Earlier, Doddalathuru was under Koudalli GP. After delimitation, Doddalathuru has become a GP, which includes Kempaiahanahalli. Twenty one nominations have been filed from the two villages for eight posts.
Ravikumar had won an election to the Koudalli GP earlier.
