Workshop on human rights awareness inaugurated by C J Hunagundha

human rights Mangaluru: Human rights commission, Humanities association and women’s forum jointly organized a one day workshop on human rights awareness at University College, Hampankatta on Monday. Karnataka state human rights commission member C J Hunagundha inaugurated the programme.

In his inaugural speech, he said that all the holy books depict human rights in one or other way and all the religions teach us the same. Human rights are standing on our life, independence, equality and prestige.

human rights “To protect the rights of the Indian citizens, constitution was formed, but in 2007 human rights commission was formed to protect the human rights, as the constitutional rights were violated. When someone violates the human rights, then this kind of commissions will be formed,” he said.

He further said that deputy commissioner and police play a greater role in protecting the human rights. Police and public have equal responsibilities towards protecting the human rights.

University College Principal Dr Udaykumar, Syndicate member Ashok Rai, human rights federation President Kolladi Balakrishna Rai and others were present.
