ATMMangaluru: Currency notes in the denomination of Rs 100 and Rs 500 have started to flowing from most of the ATMs located in Mangaluru and Udupi. Also, almost all ATMs have started their operation as the quantity of currency notes arrival began to rise.

There was huge scarcity of Rs 100 and Rs 500 notes in ATMs after demonetisation of currency notes in the denomination of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes on November 08.

Until last week, the debtors used to get single currency note in the denomination of Rs 2,000. At present the currency crunch is slowly vanishing in the market even if there is a withdrawal limit of Rs 2000 to Rs 2,400 per day through ATMs.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has asked the all the banks to deposit currency notes in the denomination of Rs 100 and Rs 500 in ATMs instead supplying them in counters. Still, some of the ATMs require technical changes to deposit new currency notes in the denomination of Rs 500 and Rs 2,000.
