CCTVs in schoolsMangaluru: “there are allegations that installation of CCTV cameras in schools will affect the environment of children. Children will not be able to play with freedom if CCTV cameras are installed. Proper discussions should be made on this issue to overcome the drawbacks,” said UNICEF education and prevention of children Advisory Representative Suchitra Rao.

She was addressing the gathering in district level workshop for district committe members and educational department officials on the topic of Karnataka state child prevention policy, on Monday.

“Karnataka is the state which has implemented comprehensive policy for prevention of children. Many other states are also seeking suggestions from Karnataka. Educational department and women and children empowerment department are the main reason behind this success,” she said.

“Educational institutions, Madarasa’s, residential coaching centres are also included in the policy,” she added.

K Raghavendra Bhat, Children empowerment committee President Nikhesh Shetty and others were present.
