Mangaluru : Mangaluru City Corporation to be organise two-day state-level workshop on ‘Karnataka Smart City Project on February 3 and 4 at Hotel Ocean Pearl, said city mayor Harinath.
Addressing to media on Thursday February 2, Harinath said, The workshop will be jointly organised by the Karnataka government, the World Bank and KUIDFC,” and ” the minister for urban development Roshan Baig, district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai, and minister for food and civil supplies U T Khader will present.
The four delegates from Seoul and four officials from World Bank will attend the workshop. Top IAS officers V Ponnuraj, Bharat Lal Meena, Srivatsa Krishna, Mahendra Jain, Shashank Ojha, MUDA Chairman Suresh Ballal, Legislators JR Lobo, Moidin Bava, MLC Capt. Ganesh Karnik and Chief Whip of Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza and Mayor will also participate as chief guests.
This meet is expected to bring all the senior city officials, World Bank consulting resources, senior officials of the government of Karnataka and KUIDFC together to discuss and finalise the implementation plans and arrangements for the Smart City project of the state,” he said.
The workshop will also bring together all the city officials from various implementing agencies and putting into perspective the common implementation arrangements for the project. This shall facilitate creation of a common smart city road map for all agencies involved in the state’s project implementation.
Bengaluru, Hubballi, Davangere, Shivamogga and Tumakuru seven city corporations “Delegates from Karnataka will take part in this workshop. Experts from Korea and the World Bank will conduct sessions in this workshop. Mayor, deputy mayor, commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation and 60 corporators from the city will participate,” the mayor informed.
MCC commissioner Mohammed Nazeer, joint commissioner Gokul Das Nayak, Kavitha Sanil and others were present.
