Mangaluru : Andria D’Souza of Mangalore won Karnataka State Women’s Championship held at Ursu Gymkhana heritage Club in Mysuru.
Andria won against tourney’s top seed WCM Isha Sharma in the penultimate round and in the final round she split points with Sanjana Raghunath to ensure an easy way to become champion.
Isha Sharma of Belthangady won final round against Mahima Sherigar of Udupi to become first Runner-up while Sanjana Raghunath of Bangalore stood as second runner up.
Sri. Hanumantha R, Secretary of United Karnataka Chess Association, Smt. Kavana Mallanna, Former state champion, Sri. M M Biddappa, Sri. H T Raviprakash were present at the prize distribution function.
