6 arrested in connection to attacking hotel staff at Belthangady

Belthangady AttackBelthangady : Belthangady police have arrested six persons on the charges of barging into the hotel owned by the BJP Minorities cell leader of Ujire and assaulting the staff.

Those arrested are Ashish Kumar, Parameshwar, Naveen, Arun Kumar and Ajith Kumar. The incident took place at around 8 pm on Saturday.

The accused who were waiting outside the Empire Hotel owned by the BJP leader attacked an employee named Mohammad Altaf who was returning after delivering a parcel. Altaf managed to escape and run inside the hotel. The accused entered the hotel behind Altaf and even reportedly assaulted others in the hotel.

Sources said the accused had picked up a quarrel with the hotel staff a week ago. Belthangady Police have registered a case against as many as 15 people in connection with the incident.
