CMBengaluru : Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa held a monsoon preparedness meeting on Thursday.

After the meeting, Revenue Minister Mr R Ashoka told the media, “We have taken a lot of precautions before the monsoon enters Karnataka. Around 300 vulnerable places have been identified in Bengaluru. Out of them, heavy water logging is reported in 60 places.

For smooth flow of rainwater, desilting will be done in storm water drains. Instructions have been given to desilt drains at railway underpasses where water logging takes place during rainfall. A 24*7 control room will be set up to reach people affected by rains.

A task force will be constituted in every Assembly constituency and the required financial assistance will be provided. Officials have been instructed to procure high pressure water pumps. A relief and rescue team will be on standby in each assembly constituency.”
