Bangalore: In a blame game after Judge Bannurmath dropped out of contest for Lokayukta post, he contested the claim of state Governor Hans Raj B., that he(Judge) had owned an additional housing site, against rules at all.
A hurt Judge after he was rejected by the Governor as tainted, told reporters that facts did not prove the blame made on him. No adverse strictures were passed by the Apex Court in any cases decided on him. There was no proper foundation for the Governor therefore, for disregarding the Judge for a Quasi-judicial post, when state Government had repeatedly recommended only him.
Bannurmath added that he did not own any other property than a site allotted to him in the judicial lay-out in city.
The Governor H.R. Bhardwaj continued to reject the name proposed to him, till last week.
The Lokayukta post is vacant since 19-09-2011, after Shivaraj V. Patil quit. Bannurmath was recommended to the lower post(quasi-judicial) on October 27.
DVS Gowda has to search for a new name now, above the 2 upa-Lokayuktas in service.
