Karnataka Guarantee of Services to Citizens Act enforced at ZP

Zilla Panchayat Mangalore : K. T. Shailaja Bhat, the president of the Zilla Panchayat inaugurated a special event held to the Karnataka Guarantee of Services to Citizens Act of 2011 was enforced in DK on April 2 Monday.

Deputy Commissioner Chennappa Gowda said that 4758 of the 5540 applications were disposed within the fixed time frame in Puttur, during the last month. In the transport department 3341 applications were disposed out of 3750, in Revenue department 511 disposed out of 622, in Town Municipal Council 453 disposed out of 519 and in Panchayath Raj 65 disposed out of 189 applications, he said.

Zilla Panchayat He also said that Puttur was selected for the implementation of this act on a trial basis. The government employees used to delay in giving services to citizens before the enforcement of the act but now this will be changed soon. The staffs required and the infrastructure to implement the act will also be set, he added. The people can collect information from call centre set up—2441590 (district) and 080-44554455 (state).

Zilla Panchayat Yogish Bhat, the deputy speaker of the state legislative assembly, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, the president of the Coastal Development Authority (CDA); Dr. K. N. Vijayaprakash, the CEO of the Zilla Panchayath; Harish Kumar, the commissioner of Mangalore City Corporation (MCC); Seemanth Kumar Singh, the Mangalore police commissioner; Abhishek Goyal, the district SP; and many others were also present.
