Mangalore: Nine graduating students at University College made an anthology of various stories they liked from several books in English, and then translated them into Kannada, to publish them in a volume called ‘Nammanuvada’(our translations), By which was published in a story collection on Tuesday evening, by Anekantha Publications.
They stood up to express their feelings in a care opportunity, provided by Prof Vijaya Kumar and associate, Prof N.K. Rajalakshmi, both working in the same college in city.
The programme was held at the Ravindra Hall of the University College.
Prof. Mahalinga Bhat of St. Aloysius’ evening College lauded the efforts of students and teachers, during the release of the printed book of translated stories. He asked for developing the writing and reading skills of students in all other College as well.
Prof. Sridhar Rao of Mangalore University also praised the work put in, and suggested that the students could also do English translations of Kannada stories, to spread the Indian culture among readers.
