Mangalore: Hundreds of students from various parts of the district appeared for the first day of the Common Entrance Test for admission to professional courses held in 16 centres in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Chennappa Gowda himself is the chief superintendent of the vigilance teams formed to monitor the CET centres.
All out efforts had been made by the district administration to see that CET was a smooth sail. Prohibitory orders had also been clamped within a radius of 200 meters from the centres and xerox shops in the area were directed to close down.
Apart from Mangalore, CET was also held in centres in Moodbidri and Puttur. CET will also be held on May 22.
