Bangalore : Retired High Court Justice S.B. Majage was sworn in at the Raj Bhawan today, as Upa Lokayukta of Karnataka. The post was vacant for over 6 months.
Majage said he would work within the ambit of Law, making honest efforts to check official corruption in places. If anyone was aggrieved by corruption, Majage asked the person to complain to him for redressal.
He hoped to go through pending files and provide justice to people, which came as a golden opportunity to his lot.
Lokayukta N. Santosh Hegde, who was present at the function, that he was satisfied with the Upa Lokayukta’s appointment, which was his demand now fulfilled.
CM Yeddyurappa informed the gathering that he had filled the vacancy as promised and hoped to strengthen the LA institution thereon.
