Kapu: The famous tourist spot Kapu light house was merged in water due to sea erosion.
The light house was built by British people on a boulder at the shore of Kapu beach. Now violent and high tides are lashing the light house. There is also a danger that’s posed as of the approach road may be washed away.
The Arabian Sea is stretched up to 150 meters of the shore and the shore is now full of water. It looks like that the light house is situated in the middle of the sea. If the tourists climb the boulder by ignoring the warning of security guards, they might be washed away.
The situation has been the same for the past few years. The local MLA and former minister, Vinay Kumar Sorake has requested the government to construct the protection wall before monsoon so that sea erosion may be averted. But no action has been taken in this regard until now.
