Mangalore : A cheque towards providing medicines to poor patients admitted to Ladygoschen Hospital, was handed over to  the hospital authorities  by Karuna Kiran Foundation, a unit of GT Foundation.

The Foundation Managing Trustee Dr V Ravichandran handed over a cheque for Rs 25,000 as a first instalment and added cheque for an equal amount  will be provided during the coming months, until the total donated amount reached Rs 3 lakhs.

N Yogish Bhat, Deputy Speaker, said the MRPL has donated Rs 21.7 crores for the new building works of Ladygoschen Hospital and added tenders for the works will be invited on January 28 and the foundation for the same would be laid by chief minister Jagadish Shettar on January 30.

He also said when completed the full-fledged hospital will be named MRPL-Ladygoschen Block He also said a committee under the presidentship of Deputy Commissioner has been formed to ensure transparency in all works.
