Kasargod: Five persons including a man from Kasargod were killed in an explosion in a Dubai bound cargo vessel MV Maharshi Krishnatrya following a gas leakage. The deceased Kasargod man has been identified as MK Krishnan of Neeleshwara. The vessel had set sail from Mangalore Port on November 5, Monday.

The mishap is learnt to have occurred when the five were repairing a damaged pipe when the vessel was 220 nautical miles away from Mumbai coast on the evening of November 5, Monday. One person who has been critically injured was shifted to the Porbander hospital for treatment after airlifting through a Sea  King MK 42 C Helicopter.
