Kurma Rao takes charge as Udupi Deputy Commissioner

Kurma-RaoUdupi : The new Deputy Commissioner of Udupi District M Kurma Rao took charge on September 1, Wednesday. He is graduated in B.Tech Computer Science and selected for Indian Administrative Service in 2011.

He was earlier serving as the Managing Director of North East Karnataka Road Transport Corporation. He also has the experience of serving as Deputy Commissioner of Yadagir district. The erstwhile Udupi DC G Jagadish has been appointed as Joint Secretary to the Chief Minister.

Soon after taking charge, the new DC Kurma Rao visited the Government Girls College in the town and interacted with students and teachers as today is the first day of resumption of physical classes for students from Ninth Standard to II PUC.

The new DC spoke on the Covid pandemic and said the focus should be to get the unvaccinated people vaccinated at the earliest. He also assured to discharge his duties by taking everyone into confidence.
