The landslides at nine places and the fallen trees following rains in the region on Monday June 11 have caused inconvenience to the commuters leading to heavy traffic jams in the Ghat. Meanwhile, a team, led by social worker Hasanabba, is clearing the route in Charmadi Ghat.
Children and other commuters have been stranded with shortage of food.
Those who are heading towards Bengaluru or Mysuru can take alternative route through Puttur-Sullia-Sampaje or through Bajegoli-Mala-Kudremukh. Those travelling from Udupi can take an alternative route through Bajegoli-Mala-Kudremukh or Balebare-Hulikal ghat.
