Bangalore: The local Bar practitioners have decided to storm the Vidhana Soudha(legislature building) on Tuesday, March 20 to seek redressal against their grievances aimed at city Police and journalists who had ill-treated them for incidents that took place at the city civil complex on March 2, after which they had stopped all regular attending of courts business.
However, the city police as a precautionary measure, have refused to agree or allow them to have such a disturbing programme. Nevertheless, the lawyers want to demonstrate before the legislative building, by issuing a call for ‘Vidhana Soudha, Chalo.
But KN Subba Reddy wrote to City Police Commissioner a letter that was turned down. The police warned that due to the budget session Sn.144 of IPC was in force for 2km. area surrounding the V.Soudha and High court upto midnight as on March 25 from March 19.
At the same time, if the advocates chose to ignore police instructions, the Bar Association would be held responsible for any calamities following the storming of V.Soudha, CPC Mirji wrote back.
The police did not even accord a consent to the proposed “protest” rally or such processions. KN Subba Reddy condemned the police refusal.
He was adamant to take on the police and the Government on Tuesday to break public peace and hold police responsible for lawyers atrocities. 10,000 lawyers from all over the state are descending on Bangalore on Monday.
