Mangalore : The Lokayukta sleuths arrested an assistant drug control officer red handed while accepting bribes from medical shop owners after the meeting held at Samadhan Hotel near Thokottu on July 16, Saturday.
The lokayukta arrested officer Dr. Raveendra Shah, who received 14 covers with a total of Rs. 49,000 from medical shop owners.
Officials said that the name of the person gave the information cannot be revealed But the medical shop owners also have violated the rules at the cost of their customers’ health.
Dr. Shah received bribes from 14 medical shop owners in Ullal and Thokkottu to renew their licenses and other favours during the annual inspection.
Dr. Shah will be produced in court tonight.
