Mangalore : K.H. Muniyappa is the Union Minister of state for Railways said that it is difficult to make Mangalore a world class station, since it requires 5 acres of land and Mangalore has only two acres of land and it will be possible if MCC and state government think about.
He was speaking at the press meet held at Circuit House on October 15, Monday. Speaking on the new trains, he said that in three to four month, the trains between Kadur and Chikmagalur, White Field and Kolar will start.
He also said that the proposal for construction of line between Hubli and Ankola, Thaleguppa and Honnavara has been sent, but has the threat to the environment at to the environment. Hence the Indian Institute of Science has come forward with a solution for construction of tunnels. Further Mangalore-Bangalore train has been extended to Karwar, he said.
He also said that a survey has been done for the construction of railway track between Mysore and Kushalanagar.
Speaking on the Government project MGNREGA, he said that it comprises of 623 programmes to the citizens, but funds are being misused, he added.
