Mangalore : Nidhi  Shenoy Y of Derik’s Chess School, has bagged the Runner Up position in the Karnataka State Under 9 Girls Chess Championship held at Bangalore recently.

She scored  unbeaten six points with five wins and two draws in the 7 round Swiss league tournament.

Nidhi has now been selected to represent the state in the National under 9 Girls Chess Championship to be held at in November.

Nidhi, a fourth standard student in St Theresa’s English Convent School, is the daughter of Vivek and Vidya Shenoy of Bejai.
