Mangaluru:  Mangaluru police arrested a cricket bookie on Friday May 31st in backdrop of ICC Cricket World Cup betting.

The arrested is identified as Vishwas (40), a resident of Konaje.

According to police sources, the accused was running a gambling den and was also involved in cricket betting through a mobile app. Apparently he was on the run since many days and despite repeated tip-offs , he remained untraceable to the police.

However on Friday, the accused was nabbed by a police team based on credible information. The team also seized a mobile phone and Rs 5,500 in cash from his possession.
