Mangaluru : An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI) under Mangaluru Police Commissionerate attempted to end his life by consuming poison at a city lodge on Monday, September 23.

The victim ASI Naveen, 45, is attached to Mangaluru East Police Station.

Upon getting news of the attempted suicide, Bunder Police personnel rushed to the spot and admitted Naveen to a private hospital for treatment.

The exact cause for the suicide attempt is yet to be ascertained

A case in this regard has been registered at North Bunder Police Station.
