Udupi :  Some people have stoned the mosque at Nejar in Kalianpur on April 2, Tuesday.  The window panes of the masjid were broken due to the stoning.

Security in the area has been tightened following the incident. Police have also arrested three persons in connection with the attack.

Meanwhile, in another case, a  youth named Iqbal  hailing from Nejar has been assaulted by some unidentified miscreants. He has been hospitalized.

It may be recalled here that some incidents of communal overtones had been reported in the region even in the past.
