Mangaluru : District In-Charge Minister Ramanath Rai has said that as many as 192 firms had orally confirmed their participation in the Mangaluru Udyoga Mela, scheduled to be held at Canara Engineering College in Benjanapadavu, on November 19 and 20.
This includes manufacturing, IT, construction, sales and retails, banking and healthcare and hospitality firms. Briefing media persons here on Monday, he said that private firms like Oracle, Toyota, IBM, L&T, TCS, Narayana Hrudayalaya, NMC, Thumbay Group and others were also participating in the mela.
The final list of the companies participating in the mela will be known by November 5, he added.
He said that as a part of the job fair, an orientation programme for job aspirants would be held at KPT in Mangaluru, Alva’s College in Moodbidri, Government Junior College in Mulki, Best English Medium School in BC Road, St Brigid’s School in Sullia, St Victor’s Girls High School in Puttur and Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Model Higher Primary School, Belthangady on November 7 and 8.
The minister said that online registration had been started for the job aspirants. The job aspirants can register their names on the website www.mangaluruudyogamela.com.
A total of 1,111 aspirants have already registered their names. The job fair is open to all those who have passed degree, postgraduation, ITI, diploma, engineering, nursing and BPharma courses.
The Alva’s Education Foundation Trustee Vivek Alva said that the job aspirants would be segregated as per the company’s specified requirements. The companies initially specify the requirements of the candidates on the basis of their qualifications an the skill sets that they expect in their prospective employees.
Also, the data of candidates will be supplied to the companies as per their requirements throughout the year.
A colour card, based on the qualification, would be issued to every registered candidate. The same colours will be also displayed on the company banners based on the company’s manpower requirements.
