Mangaluru : In a tragedy reported at Khaseem Road, Jubail, Saudi Arabia, a mother and son duo from Montepadavu near Ullal died after the car they were travelling by rammed into the divider on Sunday night.

Two others sustained injuries and were admitted to Khaseem Central Hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Khathijamma (50) and her son Abbas (29). The injured are Mohammad (60) Khathijamma’s husband and Mainaz (20), Abbas’s wife.

Abbas was employed in a construction company at Jubail. His parents had gone to Jubail a fortnight ago to go on a pilgrimage to Umra. Abbas’ parents and wife along with a friend’s family went to Umra by car. However, as they were returning to Jubail, the driver lost control over the car and it rammed into the divider. Abbas and Khathijamma were killed on the spot.

Abbas married Mainaz from Mulky last November. He is survived by a brother and two sisters.
